CardGauge

Privacy policy

What CardGauge collects, why, and the choices you have. Short version: we run a lean, static site, measure readership with Google Analytics, and never sell your data.

CardGauge is a static informational site, and we collect as little data as we can. This policy explains what that means in practice. It is written in plain English and updated when our setup changes; it was last reviewed on October 9, 2026.

What we collect

We use Google Analytics to understand which guides are useful; the next section explains what it records. If you choose to join our email list, we store the address you give us solely to send the updates you asked for, and you can unsubscribe at any time. We do not sell your data, and we do not ask you for your name, financial details, wallet information or crypto account credentials — and you should never send them to us.

CardGauge runs Google Analytics 4, which is provided by Google LLC and Google Ireland Ltd. It reports the pages viewed, the referring site, approximate location (city or country), device and browser type, and session timing. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. Advertising features, Google signals and ad personalisation are off, the data is not used for advertising, and it is not for sale.

Its two first-party cookies, _ga and _ga_<ID>, can last up to two years and are set only once analytics is allowed. In Europe (the EEA, the UK and Switzerland — we use your device's time zone to tell), we ask first with a banner, and nothing is sent to Google unless you click Accept. Elsewhere, analytics is on by default and you can turn it off at any time. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat you as opted out. The choice is kept in your browser's local storage under the key analytics-consent, not in a cookie.

Cookie settings reopens the banner so you can change your analytics choice. Google's own privacy policy applies to its processing, and Google's opt-out add-on blocks Google Analytics in your browser.

Some outbound links to card issuers are affiliate links. When you click one, the destination or its affiliate network may set a cookie so any resulting signup can be attributed to us. That process is run by the issuer and its network, under their privacy policies, not ours. You can read more on our affiliate disclosure page, and you can decline these cookies in your browser settings.

Your choices

You can browse the site without giving us any personal information, unsubscribe from email at any time, switch analytics off, and control cookies through your browser. If you would like us to remove an email address we hold, contact [email protected] and we will do so.
