CardGauge

Affiliate disclosure

How CardGauge makes money, which links are affiliate links, and the firm rule that a commission never moves a verdict.

CardGauge is free to read, and we fund it partly through affiliate links. This page explains exactly how that works so you can judge our independence for yourself. In short: some links to card issuers are affiliate links, a commission never changes what we write or how we rank a card, and a large share of what we recommend pays us nothing at all.

When we link to a card issuer through one of our tracked links, it is an affiliate link, and we mark it as such near where it appears. If you open an account or card through one, the issuer may pay us a commission at no extra cost to you. The card issuers we currently have affiliate relationships with in this niche are Crypto.com (its Visa card), Nexo (the Nexo Card) and Bitpanda (the Bitpanda Card). Every affiliate link on the site routes through a /go/ redirect and carries a "sponsored nofollow" tag, the standard way to disclose a paid link to search engines.

Plenty of the cards and options we discuss have no affiliate link at all, and that is intentional. When we mention a plain cashback credit card, the Coinbase Card, the Gemini Credit Card or another product we do not earn from, there is no /go/ link — the unpaid mention is our honest signal. We often conclude, on the best crypto cards page and elsewhere, that a normal cashback card beats a crypto card for a given reader, even though we earn nothing when we say so. We would rather keep your trust than win a commission.

The rule we hold to

A commission never moves a ranking, and it never softens a warning. If a card that pays us has a staking catch, a fee that eats its rewards, or a habit of re-pricing tiers, we say so as plainly as we would about a card that pays us nothing. Nothing on this site is financial, tax or legal advice, and no affiliate relationship changes that. If you ever feel a recommendation reads like it was bought, tell us at [email protected] — that feedback matters more to us than the link.
